Evan Jones
Mr. Jones has more than 30 years of operating and investment experience in the life sciences industry. He has founded or helped start a number of successful companies. Prior to forming jVen Capital Mr. Jones was co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Digene Corporation, a publicly traded biotechnology company focused on women’s health and molecular diagnostic testing. Mr. Jones is currently a Board member of Veracyte, Inc. and GeneWerk Holdings GmbH. He was previously a Board member of CAS Medical Systems, Inc., Fluidigm, Inc., and Foundation Medicine, Inc. He was CEO and Chairman of OpGen Inc. from October 2013 until the company was sold to Curetis, NV in March 2020. He was Executive Chairman of Signature Genomic Laboratories, LLC from 2008 until the company was sold to PerkinElmer Corp. in May 2010.

Since 2007
Established in 2007 by Evan Jones, a successful entrepreneur in the life sciences and molecular diagnostics fields, jVen Capital works closely with its portfolio companies to help develop their visions and to build successful businesses.
Mr. Jones has an active interest in helping to improve healthcare for children and increasing investment in disease control, prevention and biomedical research. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American College of Medical Genetics Foundation.
Previously he served on the Board of Research!America. He was a Board Member of the Children’s National Medical Center and the Children’s Research Institute where he served as Board Chair. He was founding Chairman of the Campaign for Public Health Foundation, an organization dedicated to making public health and prevention a higher national priority. Mr. Jones has a B.A. degree from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
